In Transformers: The Movie, Ironhide was aboard the Earth-bound Autobot shuttle when it was boarded by Megatron and the Decepticons. Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl and Brawl were lamentably outgunned by the Decepticons, although Ironhide survived long enough to launch a last ditch defiant effort against Megatron; unimpressed by the ebbing Ironhideâs intractable will, a sneering Megatron contemptuously shot Ironhide at nearly point blank range.
